It’s hard to beat a good thrift store if you’re looking to save money on some clothes. Many people grow up getting hand me down clothes from their older brothers and sisters. They don’t have a need for new clothing because it’s a luxury they have rarely been afforded in the past. Indeed, if second hand clothes are your thing, here are a few of reasons to hit up your neighborhood Goodwill outlet.
1.) The cost is low- Shirts and pants that may have cost $20-$40 brand new can be had at a Goodwill store for a fraction of the price. Often you will be able to get shirts for $3 and pants for $5. In addition, you can find items that you just don’t want to buy new because of the cost. Such an item might be a coat or jacket to wear to a wedding. These items can cost $200 new of you can get pne at Goodwill for about $15. There are changing rooms to try on clothes before purchase so that you can be sure it will fit when you get home.
2.) The inventory is always changing- Just because you visited a Goodwill and they didn’t have anything you wanted, don’t let that discourage you from going back again soon. New clothes are constantly being brought in on oversized trucks with old clothes that have been there awhile being moved out. Get to the store early in order not to miss out on the great deals.
3.) It’s trendy- It’s not always cool to wear other people’s old clothes but you happen to live in a day and age where it is cool. Why not take advantage of that to re-do your wardrobe and them brag to your friends about how little you spent on your clothes.
Looking through thrift stores is just plain fun and you might find some clothes you like in the process. Why not stop by your Goodwill and see what new, or old!
