Recycled Clothes -Demand For Reuse

The new logo everywhere is to ‘think green’. The idea refers to many approaches like minimizing wastage and pollution of nature either by using organic food, buying used products which are still in good condition, looking for alternate renewable source of energy and so on. One must have heard about waste recycle and glass or plastic recycle.
A similar trend coming up now is cloth recycling. It is being carried out successfully and there is now increased demand for the same too. As the cost of recycling is much less than the cost of production of new clothes, these are available in much cheap prices and this makes it a favorite focus for bargaining.
We have seen bargain fashion in many places where certain items are actually very cheaply available for the retail shops and when they try to take maximum profit by increasing their marked price more than the original, attracting foreigners and tourists to buy them. Nowadays charity shops or thrift shops are coming up where second hand clothes received from the public is sold at low prices. The profit from such shops, excluding the rent and other expenses is used to fund charity organizations.
They may sell either general clothing or specialized items. Restored and repaired cloths are now more in demand because they not only help the needy, but also reduce the land waste. Clothes that are damaged by tear, stains, etc. are restored in special cloth restoration units and some are dyed also, to give the recycled cloths a new look. Earlier it was considered unhygienic to wear used cloths. But now even health experts say that washing such cloths in hot water using disinfectants can solve such issues and this has encouraged more people to opt for used cloths. Open mindedness and a helping mentality always help needy people.
