Thrift Stores Taking More Than Old Clothes

So, you’ve got your old clothes boxed and ready for the thrift shops. Are you sure those are the only items you want to get rid of? After all, if your goal is to clear valuable closet and drawer space, why stop at clothes? Selling items can be a hassle. Rarely do people enjoy the act of setting up a yard sale and conversing with haggling customers all day. eBay is an option as well but then you have to deal with the post office and shipping and waiting for a customer to pay, etc. Here are a few more items you can pack up before leaving for Goodwill.

1.) Old books- If you’ve tried to re-sell any book lately, you must have noticed they aren’t paying much. At many mom and pop type stores, you barely even get store credit anymore for your used paperbacks and they outright refuse the hardcover books when you bring them in the store. Instead, box them up and take them to Goodwill or another thrift shop so someone else can enjoy the books.

2.) Old electronics- Indeed, someone may want that old Polaroid camera or VCR. For instance, a child getting used to electronic equipment would love to tool around and learn with your old stuff.

3.) Knick knacks- Knick knack collectors enjoy going to Goodwill to pay minimum prices. One person’s trash is anothers treasure, so pack it up and bring it with you to the shop. Figurines of snowmen or scarecrows don’t necessarily need to be pitched in the trash.

There are plenty of things to bring besides clothes so clean out all your old stuff and sit back at the cleanliness.
